An interesting mind
A technical paper on the mind as hologram led me to the website of Dr Stephen Robbins, and to his paper on the real identity of Homer's Troy.
Phishing: the business model.
Financial Cryptography reports an account of the business model behing phishing. All of this relies on misusing information on large databases, and a dangerous tendency to redefine concepts of identity and authority, without realising that we are mistaking the model for the reality.
Correcting large databases
O'Reilly Radar reports a road sign in a UK village warning drivers not to follow Satnav, and briefly discusses the issues of getting changes made to large databases. Not a new problem.
