Eliza, Computer Therapist, in javascript

I just looked at Eliza, the 'computer therapist', which produces a sort of parody of a therapist, throwing your comment back as questions, etc. I'm amazed to find it is entirely written in Javascript - see the source for the page.

The javascript contains the marvellous comment:

// Fake time thinking to allow for user self reflection
// And to give the illusion that some thinking is going on

which could be useful advice to so many of us.

Seriously, though, here is a quite realistic simulation from such a tiny programme coping with grammar and still sounding quite plausible.

OK, Kurzweil. I give in. I'm going to bed now.
